Ikariam Palace Summary Script

Posted on 08 September 2008

The script adds a lot of useful information to a Resource Summary to the Palace View. Currently: Displays Resources, Resource Production or Usage Displays Money, Corruption, Population, Growth, Totals Also shows warnings for near max capacity or soon to be.

Replaces the table shown in the Palace and Gov Residence views with info from all towns:
Resources and their production level (or usage for wine)
Net Gold, Corruption
Population / Population Max , (Population Capacity Remaining) Growth
Research Points, Cultural Goods
Also has a row for resources currently on the move via trade ships.
And finally a Totals row [which includes trade goods and production rates]

Warnings are shown when resources reach maximum capacity.
Warnings are also shown when a production rate or usage rate will max-out or deplete a resource within a certain time, with the warning starting light yellow, moving through to bright red.
Warnings in Purple show 100% capacity or maximum reached.
Warnings in Blue show over 100% capacity to be reached due to trade goods transfer, which implies that the extra will be lost.

Ikariam Tip A Day: Build and Update Towns

Posted on 03 September 2008

If you wonder, do you need to build different building in your non-capitol towns and do you need to update them here is the answer.

The answer is yes - you should build all available buildings in each town and improve each one as much as possible. The main reason is part of your overall score is based on the number of building improvements you have made in your towns and the accumulated resources that went into those upgrades so that higher level improvements with larger resource commitments bump up your score in larger increments.

Of course the decision on which building to improve in a town is based on what benefit does the building provide and what are the resource demands to improve it. For example improving an embassy over a second or third workshop adds to your diplomacy points but improving a workshop to a level lower than your highest workshop level only adds to your building points.

Posted on 03 September 2008

Here is the script which shows on build pages, if not enough resources show how much is needed and how much time it will take to produce this quantity. It also generate a table showing you how much resources you’ll have in the next 20 hours.

The functional is almost the same with Travian Beyound, which we was talking about some time ago but much more simpler.

Download the script
As usually you need mozilla browser in order to use it.

In the internet you can find the published formula which determines a player?s overall score:

Total Score points
- Building Material used
- Used Luxury Goods * 2
- Research Points * 3
- Inhabitants * 100
- Used Gold / 4
- Including:
- Completed buildings
- Town hall
- Military counts twice
- Hired trade ships
- Completed researches

The total value is divided by 100

Ikariam Tip A Day: Port blocking

Posted on 14 August 2008

If someone is going to block your port, make sure that you have enough ballista0ships in the yard. For example, 20 sec. before the attacking enemy gets there, transport all your attack ships like flame throwers and catapult ships, and when the attacking enemy hits, return them to your town. That way they would do more damage. They are attack ships, not defensive ships, this way they will kill more at once instead of dying off and not killing as much.

Ikariam Tip A Day: Happiness

Posted on 13 August 2008

After suffering at the hands of corruption for nearly 2 weeks your happiness could be low. Really low. One really easy way to get happiness is through a cultural assets treaty. This is made a lot easier if you are in an alliance or have communication with a lot of people in the Ikariam World. From what I understand it actually costs you double the diplomacy points to send one and half that to receive one. Either way you will gain happiness in your town that accepts the treaty and that is a huge bonus and free.

Ikariam Tip A Day: Expansion

Posted on 12 August 2008

One key to becoming big in Ikariam is expansion. Settling a new colony is easy but brings with it the price of corruption. IMHO I would recommend to have your Governors Residence ready in all towns before making the move to creating a new colony. This may sound simple but when you have a few towns it can be quite easy to overlook the impact this can cause. Imagine losing 25% of your income and happiness due to corruption or worse 50%. A good example is say you already have 3 towns and would like to expand to a 4th. Do so once all Governors Residence are level 3 and Palace is level 3. A level 3 Governors Residence will cost approx. 19000 wood, 6800 marble and 4500 crystal. It may seem like a lot but it would be a lot worse trying to make those amounts with 25% corruption or worse.
