Ikariam
Ikariam is a new free online real time strategy game. It was released in early 2008 and gather players with a great speed. The concept is something between well-known Civilization and Caesar games. The game is browser-based so all you need to play it is Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox and internet connection.

The player start the game on an island with other players, Wonder of the World, trade good mine and Saw Mill. There are 8 Wonders of the World in the game: Hephaistos’ Forge, Temple of Gaia, Garden of Dionysus, Temple of Athene, Temple of Hermes, AresĀ“ Stronghold, Temple of Poseidon and the Colossus. They all give some different effects like doubling a wine production or doubling any other kind of resources.
There are 4 kinds of resources in the game:
- Wine ? Needed for keeping citizens happy (through the tavern), increasing the town population and for training cooks
- Marble ? Needed for higher expansion stages of most buildings
- Crystal Glass ? Needed for the academy, doctors and improvements in the workshop. Can also be used to accelerate research, as soon as Glass (Science) has been discovered.
- Sulfur ? Needed for all units and war ships except slingers.

The game concentrates more on diplomacy and trading than on combat (looks like all latest browser games are trying to do that). Players can forge alliances, make trade agreements and Cultural Goods agreements.
The graphic of the game is pretty impressive for browser games. It looks like Caesar pc games but more fun.

What can I say, the game at least worth a look, even you aren’t bored with travian as I do. You still have a chances to take a lead in one of 10 realms.
p.s. Look video fore more game art and feautres.
